Rachel & John 6.25.11 Decatur Conference Center

Rachel and John had their reception in the MLK Ballroom. They had approximately 225 guests. Their colors were fuschia, white and silver. The head table was placed in the middle of the room and a 12′ white backdrop and a custom monogram created a focal point as guests entered the ballroom.  We also placed 4 fuschia uplights on the backdrop to accent the monogram and make it really pop!

Their cake was also placed in the middle of the room, directly in front of the head table on the dancefloor.  The cake was cut immediately following the introduction of the new Mr. and Mrs. Allen! We displayed “Congratulations Rachel & John” on their video screen until the video presentation began later in the evening.

The MLK Ballroom has many architectural features and is very spacious. Family and friends had plenty of room to mingle and dance. We used 32 fuschia uplights around the entire ballroom. It gave the room a lot of color and was the perfect amount of lighting after dinner as dancing began.

Tables continued underneath the mezzanine level. The bar was placed in the middle against the back wall. We also spotlighted the bar which looked really cool when all the lights were down. This area has two columns in the middle of the room which we almost always uplight because it gives it a more dramatic look.

The dance floor was full all night, and we could tell that Rachel and John’s friends and family were having a great time! The fun ended at midnight, but we hope that Rachel and John, along with their guests, will remember the night for years to come!
