Jennifer & Jonathan 9.25.10 Decatur Conference Center

We were just at the Decatur Conference Center the week before for another reception, and it’s amazing how different you can make the same ballroom look with lighting and linens! Jen and Jon had about 250 guests, so they used the back portion of the ballroom for their cocktail hour. Their colors were black, white, and red. We loved how the red roses really popped on their cake..especially once we spotlighted it. The black backdrop framed their head table, and we put their names in the middle of it.

They used 3 different types of centerpieces. My favorite was the clear vases that were lit up with black osterich feathers on top. We did black polyester tablecloths with white polyester chair covers and black satin sashes.

We put together a photo montage for them, and they used our video screens to show it on. We used two on either side of the head table so that all of the guests could see since it is such a large room. Their videographer had also put together a DVD for them with interviews of the bride and groom and a “Motion Picture” that we showed on the screens after the bridal party introduction. It was a great start to the night!

We did color changing lighting, and Jen wanted them white when the guests entered, pink for their Introduction to “Pink” by Aerosmith, red for dinner, and a slow color fade for their first dance.

Along with the first dance, father/daughter, mother/son, and bridal party dances, Jen surprised her mom with a special mother/daughter dance to “In My Daughter’s Eyes” by Martina McBride.
